About Elos Educacional

We are Educational Consulting company that has as mission to contribute to the improvement of education through consultancy, educators training, content production, research and monitoring of educational practices aimed at strengthening teaching and learning, educational policies and school management. The company was born from the extensive experience of two educators who worked as teachers and principals of public and private schools in São Paulo. They wanted to share their experiences with educators that could become change agents in the Brazilian education space. Over the years, Elos has worked on 24 states and trained more than 7 thousand educators with. The work included Consulting, Content production, Courses and Coaching for educator, acting on several training fronts.

 

 

We have a team with a vast experience in Brazilian education. They worked as teachers, pedagogical coordinators, directors, pedagogical supervision and even as district leadership. In addition, all the team has gradutation in Education, with postgraduate in different education segments, and many have Masters and PhDin Education.

Our Courses

Management for Learning

Management for Learning course is a highlight for school leadership. Since 2013, the course has already formed about 4 thousand managers in almost 2 thousand schools. The pair of principals start the course with the Strategic Management module that include a school diagnosis phase. After 2 months, the pair choose a second module that will help to expand the repertoire and implement important tools in the school. At the end of a semester, they create an action plan to be developed with the school community in the following semester. The course was recognized by UNESCO as one of the best training programs for school principals in Latin America.

Format:
The course takes place in the hybrid format, with a two-day (12h) face-to-face meeting at the beginning of each semester and a distance-learning, through the virtual learning platform, where participants attend video-lessons, access various complementary articles and participate in discussion forums to exchange experiences with other colleagues. In addition, several activities are developed in the school itself, bringing theory and practice closer together, aiming at improving students’ learning through a professional development.
This is a 1 year course with 180 hours of workload.

Management for Classroom

The Classroom Management course was created in 2011 supported by Lemann Foundation and inspired on the book Teach Like a Champion, from Doug Lemov.
The book, that was translated to Portuguese, opened and opportunity to create a training that could help the teachers in the implementation of classroom management strategies presented in Lemov’s work. Therefore, in 2011, workshops were started and, in the following year, an annual program of continuous professional development program for teachers and managers.
The program has already served several cities in the states of São Paulo, Piauí and Goiás. In 2015, the course arrived in Ceará, attending 174 schools of the state network. The positive results were visible regarding the increase in effective teaching time in classroom, increasing results by 6 percentual points. Those results are part of an impact assessment study developed by the World Bank, which also indicated an increase of 4 points in the Portuguese index and 2 points in Mathematics index of schools that participated in the program. Until to 2017, about 1.100 school principals and almost 5.000 teachers attended the course.
The topics covered by the course are very connected to the Brazilian classroom and involve several aspects the teaching and learning process.

 

 

Format:
For teachers, the course is currently available in the online model. They can record their own classes and share with educators to receive feedbacks to qualify their classes. The online format has a 90-hour workload.
For school principals, the course takes place in a hybrid model with 4 face-to-face meetings of 8h throughout the year and activities for online studying. In addition, they have practical activities to implement in school, such: development of training guidelines on the subjects studied to be applied with teachers of the schools, observation and report of class, planning of feedback and feedback with teacher. This format lasts 1 year, with a workload of 115 hours in total.
